Abstract
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Regulations establish standards of safety which provide an acceptable level of control of the radiation hazards to persons, property and the environment that are associated with the transport of radioactive material. The design of packages may be demonstrated as meeting the relevant requirements of the Regulations by subjecting prototypes or samples of a particular design to physical and mechanical environmental tests. For Type B, designs have to meet the requirements for permitted activity release as shown in Table 1.
