U.S. Department of Energy Takes New Approaches in Waste Issues

Last year, I attended your meeting and outlined some of the actions we would be taking to reblue the Civilian Radioactive Waste Management Program. We took those initiatives. I'm sure you are aware that the U.S. national policy on radioactive waste storage and disposal is likely to be the subject of debate and, perhaps, revision during 1995. Many of you will be actively participating in the Congressional action, and I want to be as helpful as possible in giving you information that will be useful.
