Potential Information Requirements for Spent Nuclear Fuel

The Department of Energy's (DOE) Energy Information Administration (EIA) has performed analyses of the requirements for data and information for the management of commercial spent nuclear fuel (SNF) designated for permanent disposal under the Nuclear Waste Policy Act (NWPA). Subsequently, the EIA collected detailed data on the amounts and characteristics of SNF stored at commercial nuclear facilities. Precise item-by-item data have been collected, reported on the \"Nuclear Fuel Data,\" Form RW-859, and published in aggregate form in Spent Nuclear Fuel Discharges from U.S. Reactors 1990.
