Abstract
The thermal test stipulated by the lAEA transport regulations was carried out for a test package, which has the same structural features as the packages used for the actual trdnsportation from nuclear power plants to the reprocessing plant at Rokkac;ho-mura in Aomori prefecture in Japan. In order to ensure the safe tnmsport of high bum-up spent fuels, the thermal test which formed a part of demonstration tests was carried out in the Central Research Institute of Electric Power Industry (CRIEPI). This paper describes the thermal test using a furnace . This work was conducted under a contract from the Science and Technology Agency of Japan.
