Abstract
The author discusses the traffic management of fissile materials as a significant component of the total of nuclear materials management. His discussion includes: 1. A review of the several categories of materials of the total fuel cycle, stressing the varying trans- port conditions applicable to each category. 2. A projection of the quantities of each category which will be transported in the early and late 70's. 3. A review of material values, inventory interest rates, and money costs, stressing their relation to the method chosen for the shipment of fissile materials. 4. A presentation of examples of current shipments - unit cost of transport, including value/shipping cost considerations.
