Abstract
This paper describes some of the considerations which must be given to the design and construction of a doorway monitor based upon two years of operational experience at Rocky Flats. Details such as detector selection, location of the monitor, necessary electronics, alarms, etc., are discussed. Those criteria are discussed in relation to such factors as the amount of safeguarding required, personnel throughput, and cost.
