AUTOMATED LKTD SYSTEM AT GE

The General Electric Ccnpany-Wilmington Manufacturing Department in Wilmington, North Carolina with the assistance from the Corporate Research and Development group in Schenectady, New York has developed and implemented a computer system which accumulates source data and automatically computes the limit of error for an inventory difference (LEJD). This system was tested by running it in parallel with a largely manual method. Because of the benefits and reliability exhibited by this new system, it is now used exclusively.
