Abstract
There are many challenges Inherent to training within the technical environment like the demands brought on by rapidly advancing technology, the needs for training associated with normal job market fluctuations, and the changing emphasis placed on the importance of training. While most technical training coordinators and Instructors recognize and meet these challenges with high quality training programs, few have addressed the newest, perhaps least recognized, challenge for technical training programs: making training on technical subject matter an exciting learning experience. This challenge, when met, creates the optimum training environment and provides the ultimate training experience to trainees. Making a training session exciting is difficult because training for the technical environment does not easily lend itself to innovative training approaches. The key to having a truly successful technical training program is to find those creative techniques which will make technical training an enjoyable experience as well as a learning one for the trainees. This paper will offer some examples of how one training organization met this challenge by designing, developing, and conducting an innovative program which provides an exciting training experience and, ultimately, a more
