Abstract
More and more in today's environment, training is becoming a requirement for everyone in almost any position. With this requirement comes the responsibility for developing and maintaining a complete training program. Hundreds of authors have written thousands of pages describing the \"how-to's\" of training program development, beginning with the analysis of training needs down to the preparation of complete documentation, but few address what this author has observed as being the key to developing and maintaining a high quality and truly successful training program. In this author's opinion, the development and maintenance of a truly successful training program requires the adoption of a positive training attitude or mind set. An attitude which views training as more than a \"requirement\" and a mind set that commits the training developers to making training a valuable learning experience. This paper will offer some insights for the non-training professional into the importance of a positive training attitude and its link to a successful training program.
