Abstract
Since 1999, AREVA is strongly involved in the Mixed Oxide (MOX) fuel assemblies shipment from Europe toward the Japanese Utilities Nuclear Power Plants (NPP). For our Japanese customers, this operation is one of the most important steps in the long term Pluthermal program which started late in the 1970’s. Thus, the AREVA’s Business Unit Logistic and International Nuclear Services (INS) jointly implement all the necessary transport means to make this operation a success within the next 20 years in accordance with the . This program is based on proven means but will have to face the future regulatory and technical challenges. Through the example of the last transport campaign (MOX-4), this paper highlights the parameters which have a major influence on the program implementation and how this will turn into an industrial process anticipating the evolution of the regulatory constraints.
