Abstract
The Protective Services Organization (PSO)-Assessments and Surveillance Department (ASD) of Lockheed Martin Energy Systems, Inc (LMES). is contracted to the Department of Energy-Oak Ridge Operations (DOE-ORO) to provide Performance Testing to the four Oak Ridge Sites. The ASD is chartered under a Performance Assurance Program Plan (PAPP) to fulfill DOE Order requirements for DOE Orders 470.1 and 5632.7A. Performance testing for the Oak Ridge Sites has been conducted by the ASD since 1991. The ASD has developed an operational level model outlining the steps necessary for conducting any type of performance based testing of physical protection systems and personnel (i.e. door alarms, shift response, force-on-force exercise). Performance testing is an integral part of the protection of Nuclear Material Assets regardless of the location or owner. This paper outlines the Performance Testing Methodology utilized by LMES.
