Abstract
The National Technology Transfer and Advancement Act (PL 104-113) directs federal agencies to achieve greater reliance on voluntary standards and conformity assessment bodies with lessened dependence on in-house regulators. The DOE Metrology Committee, a Topical Committee of the DOE Technical Standards Program, has recommended ISO Guide 25, soon to become ISO Standard 17025, as the standard for testing and analytical laboratory throughout DOE. This standard is the recognized international laboratory accreditation. A comparison of the quality requirements for measurements and measurements control in the draft ISO Standard 17025 relative to those DOE Order 5633.3B will be made.
