Abstract
This paper reviews the emergence of particle accelerator technology as a potential nuclear weapons proliferation concern, describes how this technology is viewed from a nonproliferation and export control perspective, and discusses what is being done to carry out the mandates of U.S. law and policy in order to control the application of this technology to the production of special nuclear material (SNM).
