Abstract
The performance of Perimeter Intruder Detection Systems (PIDS) is heavily influenced by the environment. Advanced sensor data processing techniques now enable systems to be tuned to optimise their performance. This paper describes how a digital fence sensor processor has been simulated. The entire process of sensor tuning and performance evaluation is speeded to a considerable degree, enabling the sensor's likely application to a different environment or fence type to be assessed with a minimum of effort.
