A RISK BASED APPROACH TO DESIGN OF SECURITY ARRANGEMENTS

A method for estimating security risk in transportation of radioactive materials is treated in a manner similar to that used for safety risk assessment. The analytic approach is reviewed and explanation of the methodology and methods used to evaluate risk are explored. Graphic output of release expectation, release consequence, and risk are provided for a generic problem.
