Abstract
State Systems of Accounting for and Control(SSAC) of nuclear materials has been given importance in the former Soviet Union, and it is recognized that SSAC must be established as soon as possible. .lapan has signed an agreement with Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan on support project for the elimination of nuclear weapons. At .lapanese government’s request, the Power Reactor and Nuclear Fuel Development Corporation(PNC) and PNC Engineering Support Company (PESCO) have been involved in the support program for the Republic of Kazakhstan. PNC and PESCO have surveyed the status of SSAC in the country, and are continuing the technical support for the IAEA’s safeguards implementation. PESCO designed, assembled and installed fuel flow monitors in BN-350 reactor under technical assistance of PNC. And PESCO is providing a computer syste]m and software for the accountancy of nuclear materials in BN-350.
