Abstract
The generation, dissemination, and protection of information are likely to play an important role in managing nuclear material. Technologies used to help assure the highest standards of safety, security, and international accountability are often ways to collect and disseminate key information. Similarly, new tools are needed to meet the information security needs of these systems. This paper will describe a technology developed by Sandia National Laboratories called the Secure Data Mirror to meet an information security need. The purpose of the Secure Data Mirror is to provide a simple, low cost, and exportable means to enable sensor information to be provided in near real-time to both unclassified and secure or classified systems. This paper will describe the need for a data mirror, why it is deemed \"secure\", and provide an overview of the hardware and software components.
