U.S. DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY NUCLEAR MATERIALS CONTROL AND ACCOUNTABILITY POLICY UPDATE

This paper discusses pohcy imtiatives underway wrthin the Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) nuclear materials control and accountability (MC&A) program to address issues on or arismg from special nuclear material (SNM) stewardship, disposmomng and cessation of operations. These initiatives are intended to improve the ability of the Department to manage rts nuclear materials and information as well as improve the application of MC&A across many facility types and diverse operations wrthm the DOE.
