Abstract
The amount of nuclear material processed in Large Scale Plutonium Processing Plants (LSPPP) results in several thousands of samples per year. This order of magnitude of samples and the necessity for the inspectors to draw timely verification conclusions requires new logistics for the sample analysis as the traditional approach of sending these samples off-site for analysis would cause significant logistical problems. Therefore the concept of On-Site-Laboratories has been developed. The first one will be operational 97/98, the second is in the detailed design phase and is scheduled for operation in 1999/2000.
