Abstract
This paper provides an update of our on-going investigation of the potential use of commercial satellit imagery in the International Atomic Energy Agency=s (IAEA) Strengthened Safeguards System. THe work is carried out to provide input to IAA deliberation regarding the use of satellite imagery including identification of the type of expertise required to support such activity. The main aims of the study are to identify and to demonstrate, with concrete examples, potential use of satelite imagery in the international safeguards. Results of pervious work has been published in a special issue on satellite imagery of the Journal of Nuclear Materials Management (JNMM), Winter 1999. Additional work has been carried out and available results are discussed in the present paper.
